Job Description

Roku is changing how the world watches TV
Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.Canada, and Mexico, and we've set our sights on powering every television in the world. Roku pioneered streaming to the TV. Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem. We connect consumers to the content they love, enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences, and provide advertisers unique capabilities to engage consumers.

We offer you the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world while gaining meaningful experience across a variety of disciplines. Roku’s Content team is responsible for driving the strategy, execution and continued management of licensed and original content and content partnerships for The Roku Channel across the US and international territories including Brazil, Canada, Mexico and the UK and the recently launched subscription streaming service Howdy.

The team encompasses Content Acquisition (responsible for deal strategy and negotiation to acquire Movies, TV Series, FAST Channels, and more), Content Partnerships (responsible for managing Roku’s hundreds of content partners), Content Strategy & Planning (responsible for guiding content investments and windowing tactics to maximize engagement and ROI). We’re seeking a Content Specialist Associate to help shape and execute on Roku’s content scheduling, planning and strategy for VOD, FAST and Sponsorship Products, across our subscription and ad-supported services.

You will serve as the primary point of contact between content and our Ad Sales and Sponsorship teams. You will be the content expert—you will understand the slate, the calendar, and the performance of our titles and translate that knowledge into highly desirable sales and sponsor packages. You will keep and maintain content trackers and calendars as well as represent the content team in planning meetings, respond to RFP’s, feed into pitch materials as well as related duties as they arise.

You will produce recurring readouts on the outcome of our sponsor packages and create a virtuous cycle of letting the data improve our strategy. This is not a sales role but rather a role for a content person fluent enough in the ad-sales world to speak with authority to both sides of the table. International expansion planning, engagement optimization planning and other cross-functional projects where content strategy needs a seat at the table.

This may mean assessing the monetization shifts, contributing input into launch strategies or supporting ad hoc strategic work outside of the sales cadence. We’re looking for someone who can flex between the steady state liaison rhythm and the more variable work that comes with a growing content strategy team. They are curious and engaged, willing to jump in to solve problems and make data-driven decisions even when things feel very ambiguous. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

How will I use AI at Roku? At Roku, we don’t just use AI, we work with it. AI agents and smart tools help power drafts, analysis, and repetitive workflows, while our people bring direction, judgment, and accountability. We value curious, adaptable builders, who can show how they’ve used AI, agents, or automation to move faster, improve quality, and scale their impact. Strong candidates know how to frame problems, guide AI-assisted work, check the output, and learn quickly.

Help define content strategy for Sponsored Content, VOD and FAST across our subscription and ad-supported services
Optimize content collections based on ad market feedback and articulate why titles/collections are compelling to consumers and advertisers. Be the content strategy representative in planning discussions and respond to all content-related requests including long-term planning and ad hoc pitches.

What experience would help someone be successful in this role at Roku?
1-3 years of relevant experience in content strategy or a similar content-adjacent role at a streaming, media or entertainment company
Passion for video content and familiarity with the streaming media landscape, including SVOD/AVOD/FAST models and entertainment and sports more broadly.

Working knowledge of how ad sales and sponsorships deals get built (packaging, RFP, integrations, etc)
Proven ability to anticipate and respond to industry shifts with strategic agility and creative solutions, leveraging data-driven insights to improve monetization.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel, as well as understanding of analytics dashboards such as Looker, knowledge of AirTable and Salesforce a plus
Data-driven approach to problem solving; Fluency using AI agents and smart tools to help power drafts, workflows and analysis and fluency using AI to enhance productivity, analysis and problem solving
