Senior Data Scientist with Security Clearance

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Senior Data Scientist for a Full-Time position.
Role Summary The Senior Data Scientist will focus on cleansing, reconciling and statistically validating complex wildlife trade, permit, applicant, species and historical datasets.
Responsibilities

• Identify malformed, irrelevant and corrupted free-text records.
• Extract salvageable structured information.
• Map values to controlled vocabularies.
• Reconcile species identifiers and scientific names.
• Resolve synonyms, misspellings, deprecated names and taxonomy mismatches.
• Standardize units, quantities and country/source codes.
• Perform deterministic and probabilistic record linkage.
• Identify duplicate applicants, permits, transactions and shipments.
• Develop reversible entity-merging methodologies.
• Develop anomaly/outlier detection for wildlife-trade data.
• Evaluate cross-source consistency and accuracy.
• Build data-quality rules and scorecards.
• Measure precision and recall against labeled datasets.
• Support Gold-layer dataset certification.
• Develop reproducible Python/R analytical code. Recommended Recruiting Qualifications
• 7-10+ years data science/data quality experience.
• Python, SQL and preferably R.
• Entity resolution / record linkage.
• Fuzzy matching and probabilistic matching.
• Statistical anomaly detection.
• Data-quality frameworks.
• Controlled vocabularies/master-data management.
• Large legacy-data remediation.
• Taxonomy/scientific-data experience is a major advantage.
