Job Description

Loan Documentation Officer – Middle Office

Our client, an International Bank based in London, is seeking an experienced Loan Documentation Officer to support the end-to-end documentation and lifecycle management of corporate and syndicated lending transactions. This is a key role within their loan operations function, working closely with Front Office, Legal, Credit, and Operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely execution of loan facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Review, negotiate, and finalise loan documentation for bilateral and syndicated facilities, including facility agreements, security documents, and ancillary legal documentation.
  2. Manage the full documentation lifecycle from term sheet through to signing, drawdown, and ongoing amendments.
  3. Liaise with external legal counsel, agents, and internal stakeholders to ensure documentation accurately reflects agreed commercial terms.
  4. Ensure conditions precedent and conditions subsequent are tracked and satisfied in line with facility requirements.
  5. Maintain accurate records within loan systems (e.g. Loan IQ or equivalent) and ensure data integrity across documentation and booking.
  6. Support facility amendments, waivers, extensions, and restructurings, coordinating documentation changes accordingly.
  7. Monitor and manage documentation-related risk, escalating discrepancies or issues as appropriate.
  8. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and market standards (e.g. LMA documentation standards).
  9. Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and controls within the documentation function.
