Our client is a global space technology business working across satellites, robotics, space exploration and communications, delivering advanced solutions for international space programmes.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior Product Assurance Engineer to lead assurance activities for electronic, electromechanical and optical products across the full project lifecycle.

You'll work closely with engineering teams, suppliers and customers, with occasional UK and international travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Product Assurance work packages across projects.
• Develop Product Assurance Plans and ensure supply-chain compliance.
• Lead EEE Parts, Materials & Processes, Radiation Hardness and RAMS activities.
• Support design, manufacturing, integration and test reviews.
• Chair PDR, CDR, SRR, MRR, TRB and customer/supplier reviews.
• Prepare EIDPs and PA documentation including QSL, CIL and CIDL.
• Lead non-conformance, critical item and change-control processes.
• Review processes, drawings, procedures, test data and inspection records.
• Support QMS activities, audits and continuous improvement.
• Act as the PA focal point for customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Promote quality best practices and mentor junior PA/QA Engineers.
• Support Business Development with proposals.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years' Product Assurance experience across ESA/NASA and commercial programmes.
• Experience with electronic, electromechanical and optical systems.
• Strong knowledge of EEE Parts, Materials & Processes, Radiation Hardness and RAMS.
• Full lifecycle experience on ESA/NASA missions.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Knowledge of ECSS-Q-ST-10, ECSS-Q-ST-60 and ECSS-Q-ST-70.
• Experience with ISO 9001 / AS 9100 quality systems.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving experience.

Nice to Have

• Supplier Quality Management experience.
• Knowledge of NASA, IPC, JEDEC and MIL-STD standards.
• Satellite, payload, robotics, optical or ground support equipment experience.
• Electronic units, PCB, digital communications or IC experience.
• Manufacturing process knowledge including soldering, coating, bonding or plating.
• Harness design and fabrication experience.
