IT Operations Engineer / Remote / 3rd Shift 8 PM - 11 AM

We are working with a client hiring an IT Operations Engineer for a remote contract opportunity supporting a high-profile client in the professional sports industry. In this overnight operations role, you will help maintain the reliability and performance of critical network, server, virtualization, backup, and monitoring environments. It is 3rd shift, Friday-Tuesday 11 PM to 8 AM and fully remote. It is a 3-month contract that can be extended.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a dependable infrastructure professional who enjoys solving complex problems, communicating clearly, and ensuring system stability during the overnight shift. The ideal candidate will have experience with Cisco networking, including Layer 1 and Layer 2 troubleshooting, hands-on Cisco CLI, access point and connectivity troubleshooting, Windows Server administration, Active Directory management and troubleshooting, WSUS deployments and patch management, VMware vCenter for virtual machine management, and backup platforms. Experience with Rubrik is preferred, as is familiarity with SolarWinds for infrastructure monitoring.
Contract Duration: 3 Months with potential extension
Required Skills & Experience

• Cisco networking, including Layer 1 and Layer 2 troubleshooting
• Hands-on use of the Cisco CLI
• Troubleshooting wireless access points and network connectivity issues
• Windows Server administration
• Active Directory management and troubleshooting
• WSUS for software deployments and patch management
• VMware vCenter for virtual machine management
• Backup platforms; experience with Rubrik is preferred
• SolarWinds for infrastructure monitoring

Desired Skills & Experience

• Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or CCNA is a plus
