Software Developer I

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client in Greenwood Village, CO that is seeking a Software Developer I.

Summary

The Developer will work primarily in Java and Spring Boot on AWS (EKS and EC2) with MongoDB/DocumentDB, fixing bugs, making enhancements, and cleaning up code. Code quality is a priority for the team, and developers own the quality of their work. They will write and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests, including STH 2.0 and GitLab/Jenkins pipelines, help validate releases in lower environments, and use Splunk and logs to investigate alerts and data issues.

The team uses AI-assisted development tools such as Kiro in its daily work for code review, test generation, and documentation, and the expectation is that this developer will use them as well. The team is small, so the developer will get real ownership early and work closely with senior engineers. Work arrangement: 4 days in office/1 day remote.

Responsibilities

• Follows company software development lifecycle to design, code, configure, test, debug, and document system and application programs
• Assists in preparing technical design specifications based on functional requirements and analysis documents
• Reviews functional requirements, analysis and design documents and provides feedback
• Collaborates with other development staff to achieve quality and consistency
• Participates in architecture, design and code reviews
• Develops and maintains operational and system-level documentation

REQUIREMENTS:

• To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
• Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
