**Requirements**:

  • Trellix experience

Pay rate on contract: $75 - 85 per hour contingent upon experience
Job Description:
We are seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to provide cybersecurity and security engineering services. This role involves system security engineering, cybersecurity risk assessments, and security architecture support. The ISSE will perform and review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with established standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary security engineering representative for the design, development, and integration of secure networking and computing environments.
  • Take a server from initial setup to a production environment, including troubleshooting any issues that arise, with a focus on development and build rather than maintenance.
  • Oversee the configuration, build, patching, and operation of approximately 13 stand-alone systems from cradle to grave.
  • Manage and configure tools such as ACAS and HBSS (ESS/Trellix), including configuring policies.
  • Evaluate Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for compliance.
  • Develop and implement security designs for new or existing network systems.
  • Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management.
  • Prepare and review program documentation, including Risk Assessment Reports and Accreditation Packages.
  • Manage Continuous Monitoring and Plans of Action & Milestones (POAMs).
  • Work with system administrators to validate patching and security tool updates.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments on software installation requests.

Required Qualifications
Experience:
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, including design and architecture.
  • Experience with ePO/ESS (Trellix/ACAS) and evaluating STIGs.
  • Background in system administration on Windows/Linux-based systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, deploy, and engineer systems in a production environment.
  • Experience with development and build processes over maintenance tasks.

Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-53, and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP).
  • Familiarity with scripting is beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge of RMF and workflow tasks within tools like Xacta.

Certifications:
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with eMASS.
  • Experience with Xacta.
  • Proficiency in running SCAP scans on Windows and RHEL servers.
  • Understanding of Information Security principles and Risk Assessment techniques.
