We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Software Engineering Associate Manager to support, lead and manage Lab Operations Support in both the Space Based InfraRed System (SBIRS) and NextGenGeo Overhead Persistent InfraRed (NGG OPIR) programs Functional Test Assembly (FTA) teams. As a Level 4 Associate Manager, you will play a critical role in leading and managing the lab operations for both the SBIRS and NGG OPIR system. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful integration, test, and delivery of the programs complex systems and subsystems.
The SBIRS and Next-Gen OPIR satellites are designed to detect and track ballistic missile launches, providing early warning of potential attacks. Both the SBIRS and NGG FTAs support Space Vehicle design, development, qualification, and operations. They use a combination of flight like hardware, emulations, software, simulations and tools to represent a fully functioning space vehicle on the ground or in orbit. The FTA Labs provide a platform for the development, test, and integration of both hardware (HW) and software (SW) products.
This role includes leading and managing lab operations to include coordination of daily/weekly lab activities across both labs, including scheduling and staffing, ensuring lab configuration is maintained in accordance with lab requirements and program needs. Coordinate and reach out across the program pro-actively to coordinate and resolve complex technical issues affecting lab operations. Participate in various reviews as required.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test plans, test procedures, and test reports, to ensure compliance with program requirements and industry standards. Required to support periodic off-shifts and/or weekend support to meet the SBIRS and NGG program needs to include the FTA and Flight Operations Support (FOS) objectives. Standard Job Description Manages software development activities. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
Oversees the design, development, documentation, and testing of software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education • Background in test and verification, including experience with functional test assembly and integration • Active Secret security clearance • Hands-On Hardware and/or software integration experience
Desired Skills • Experience with SBIRS, NGG OPIR or similar space-based systems • Previous technical or functional leadership experience • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including IEEE, ISO, and DoD standards • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Python, LabVIEW, or TestStand • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify technical risks • Proficiency with Jira, Structure and/or Agile Hive • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in complex technical environments. • Familiarity with a lab environment • Proficiency in writing test procedures and documentation • Cross-functional engineering experience, such as Electrical, Mechanical, Software and/or Systems Engineering • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $150800.00 - $280000.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
