We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our Sydney-based Finance team on a seven-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager or Finance Manager, you will take responsibility for the end-to-end financial management of an assigned Australian property portfolio. This is a hands-on role working closely with Finance, Asset Management and Property teams to deliver accurate reporting, maintain strong financial controls and provide meaningful insights to support portfolio performance.
This opportunity would suit a commercially minded and detail-oriented property accountant who can quickly establish themselves within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate month-end reporting, including accruals, prepayments, IFRS adjustments, amortisation and outgoings reconciliations.
- Complete general ledger reconciliations, statutory trust account reconciliations and monthly owner remittances.
- Prepare monthly P&L variance commentary and partner with Asset and Property teams to support performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with capital expenditure tracking, annual budgets, property outgoings reconciliations and audit requirements.
- Support compliance activities, internal controls, payment and vendor checks, and broader Finance team projects as required.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, together with a CA or CPA qualification.
- Approximately three to five years’ experience in commercial property accounting, with a solid understanding of relevant accounting standards.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and record keeping.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the confidence to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work under pressure.
- Experience with Yardi Voyager, BlackLine or AI-enabled accounting and productivity tools will be highly regarded.
