Field Service Technician

Location: Chattanooga, TN
Pay Rate: $120,000 per year
Open availability required. Extensive out-of-state travel

Join a leading industrial equipment team as a Field Service Technician supporting hot mix asphalt (HMA) plants across the United States and occasionally internationally. This highly autonomous role is ideal for a skilled technician with strong electrical, mechanical, and customer service expertise who enjoys travel and solving complex technical challenges.
Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent hands-on experience with hot mix asphalt plants.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of direct hot mix asphalt plant experience required.


• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, three-phase power, control panels, schematics, and drawings.


• Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.


• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.


• Valid passport or ability to obtain one without restrictions.

Job Duties

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and support hot mix asphalt plants and control systems.


• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues onsite and remotely.


• Configure and calibrate plant operating software and control systems.


• Train plant operators on safe and efficient equipment operation.


• Manage field service assignments independently from start to finish.


• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and parts teams to resolve customer issues.


• Complete service reports, expense documentation, and timekeeping records.


• Maintain exceptional customer service and represent the company professionally.

Physical Capabilities

• Frequent travel throughout the United States with occasional international travel.


• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.


• Comfortable climbing industrial structures and working at heights.


• Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment, parts, and tools.


• Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding experience using stick and MIG welders.


• Experience using cutting torches and performing steel fabrication or modifications.


• Strong conflict resolution and communication skills.


• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
