Senior Cloud Site Reliability Engineer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Cloud Site Reliability Engineer for a contract assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in New York, NY .

The Enterprise Support Infrastructure Engineering team within the Bank's Technology Group is seeking a Senior Cloud SRE to build and maintain resilient, secure AWS infrastructure supporting business applications. This is a hands-on role focused on Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and deploying custom applications and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software in AWS.

Responsibilities :

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure.
• Write and maintain Terraform infrastructure as code to provision AWS services and deploy custom applications and COTS tools.
• Build and troubleshoot GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and infrastructure rehydration.
• Containerize application code and commercial software.
• Deploy unfamiliar software into AWS using its installation and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with customers and service providers to deliver secure, resilient cloud platforms.

Required Skills :

• Strong, demonstrated hands-on proficiency with Terraform for AWS infrastructure provisioning and troubleshooting .
• Strong, demonstrated hands-on proficiency with automated GitLab CI/CD pipelines .
• Strong AWS infrastructure experience across:
• Compute and containers : EC2, Lambda, ECS, and Fargate.
• Storage and databases : S3, EFS, RDS PostgreSQL, and SQL Server on RDS.
• Networking : VPC, transit gateways, Direct Connect, ALB/ELB, Route 53, DNS, and data gateways.
• Messaging and monitoring : SNS, CloudWatch, and Grafana.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, Okta integration, encryption, key management, certificates, vulnerability management, and infrastructure rehydration.
• Working knowledge of Java, Python, and Scala.
• Familiarity with containerized application stacks, including NGINX, JBoss, Tomcat, and Amazon Corretto.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, Agile/Scrum, and Jira.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a focus on customer outcomes.

Preferred Skills :

• Experience with Databricks, Starburst, AWS Glue, and EKS.
• Knowledge of AWS Multi-AZ and Multi-Region architectures.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• AWS certifications.
