JOB SUMMARY
Vaco is currently seeking a Platform Engineer (DevOps / CI/CD / Automation / Observability) for a 16M+ Contract that is remote. The Platform Engineer will support a large-scale enterprise cloud data platform initiative focused on provisioning, automating, securing, monitoring, and optimizing Snowflake environments within Azure. The Platform Engineer will lead platform engineering efforts by implementing Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, observability, security integration, and cloud governance while ensuring the Snowflake platform remains scalable, reliable, secure, and cost efficient. The ideal Platform Engineer will possess strong Snowflake platform administration experience combined with Azure cloud engineering, DevOps automation, and enterprise platform operations expertise. This is a cloud platform engineering role focused on automation and operational excellence rather than traditional database administration.

• Snowflake Platform Administration – Provisioning / Configuring / Administering Enterprise Snowflake Environments Supporting Secure / Scalable / Highly Available Cloud Data Platforms
• Platform Engineering / Automation – Automating Platform Provisioning / Configuration / Environment Management Using Infrastructure as Code and Enterprise Automation Practices
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) – Developing / Maintaining Terraform Templates Supporting Consistent Infrastructure Deployment / Configuration Management / Platform Standardization
• Azure Cloud Engineering – Supporting Azure Infrastructure / Networking / Identity / Cloud Services Required for Enterprise Data Platform Operations
• CI/CD Automation – Designing / Implementing Automated Build / Deployment / Release Pipelines Supporting Snowflake Platform Changes / Infrastructure Deployments / Operational Automation
• DevOps Engineering – Supporting Modern DevOps Practices Including Source Control / Automated Testing / Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery / Infrastructure Automation
• Observability / Monitoring – Implementing Enterprise Monitoring / Logging / Alerting / Performance Visibility Supporting Proactive Platform Operations

• Snowflake Administration – Experience Provisioning / Configuring / Administering Enterprise Snowflake Environments Supporting Secure Cloud Data Platforms
• Azure Cloud – Experience Supporting Azure Infrastructure, Identity, Networking, and Cloud Services Supporting Enterprise Data Platforms
• Terraform – Experience Developing Infrastructure as Code Solutions Supporting Automated Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning and Configuration Management
• Platform Engineering – Experience Supporting Enterprise Cloud Platforms Through Automation, Standardization, Operational Excellence, and Scalable Infrastructure Design
• DevOps – Experience Implementing Modern DevOps Practices Supporting Infrastructure Automation, Source Control, Build Pipelines, and Release Management
• CI/CD – Experience Designing and Maintaining Automated CI/CD Pipelines Supporting Platform Deployments and Operational Automation
• Observability / Monitoring – Experience Implementing Monitoring, Logging, Alerting, Metrics Collection, and Operational Dashboards Supporting Platform Reliability
• Logging / Operational Visibility – Experience Supporting Centralized Logging, Operational Diagnostics, Troubleshooting, and Performance Analysis
• Performance Optimization – Experience Monitoring Platform Health, Resource Utilization, Query Performance, and System Efficiency
• Security Integration – Experience Integrating Enterprise Authentication, Identity Management, Access Controls, and Security Best Practices Within Cloud Platforms
• Cloud Cost Management (FinOps) – Experience Monitoring Cloud Resource Consumption and Identifying Opportunities to Optimize Operational Costs
• Analytical Problem Solving – Experience Performing Root Cause Analysis, Production Troubleshooting, Platform Optimization, and Continuous Operational Improvement
