Job Description

We are looking for a strong Java Backend Developer for a contract opportunity in Bentonville, AR. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience building scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices, along with excellent Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA) and problem-solving skills.

This is a pure backend development role. Candidates should be comfortable working on complex backend systems, designing APIs and microservices, solving coding challenges, and developing high-performance distributed applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Build and enhance Microservices-based architectures.
Develop robust REST APIs and backend services.
Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and production-ready Java code.
Apply strong Data Structures & Algorithms knowledge to solve complex engineering problems.
Work on high-volume and high-performance distributed systems.
Participate in technical design, code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
Develop and maintain database integrations using SQL, ORM, Spring Data, and related technologies.
Work with Kubernetes/K8s and cloud-native environments.
Collaborate with engineering, architecture, QA, DevOps, and other technical teams.
Troubleshoot production issues and identify root causes.

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Core Java.
Strong experience with Spring Boot.
Extensive experience developing Microservices.
Excellent knowledge of Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA).
Strong problem-solving and coding skills.
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, and backend application architecture.
Experience with SQL and relational databases.
Experience with Spring Data / ORM frameworks.
Experience with Kubernetes (K8s).
Understanding of CI/CD and modern software development practices.
Experience developing scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems.

Preferred Skills

Cloud experience with Azure / AKS.
Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
Knowledge of Spring Security.
Experience with application performance optimization.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.

Important

This is a backend-focused position. We are specifically looking for candidates with strong hands-on Java + Spring Boot + Microservices + DSA experience rather than primarily UI/frontend-focused Java developers.

Candidates should be comfortable with coding and DSA-based technical interviews.
