Job description

What this Department does:

The Procurement organization at Tallgrass sources the materials, equipment, and services that keep our energy infrastructure running safely and reliably. The team manages strategic sourcing, supplier qualification and performance, contracting, and the procure-to-pay process in partnership with Operations, Projects, Finance, Legal, and IT. Within Procurement, the Supply Chain Automation (SCA) group leads the organization's adoption of agentic artificial intelligence (AI) and automation—building AI agents, personas, and workflows that help our people work faster and smarter. A key focus of this effort is how we communicate: SCA is standardizing the presentations, booklets, and graphical materials the organization produces and helping teams deliver clearer, more consistent, and more persuasive messages to leadership, business partners, and suppliers.

You can expect to:

  • Help define and document AI agent personas for communication work—such as a Presentation
  • Designer, Booklet Editor, Brand and Style Reviewer, and Data-to-Visual Storyteller—including each persona's purpose, tone, audience, and expected outputs.
  • Draft, test, and refine prompts, agent instructions, and reusable skills that guide AI agents toward consistent, high-quality results.
  • Help assemble multi-step agentic workflows that take a request from initial brief to outline, first draft, review, revision, and final deliverable, with human review at key checkpoints.
  • Test agent outputs for accuracy, clarity, brand alignment, and audience fit; log issues and suggest improvements.
  • Use AI agents together with PowerPoint and design tools to help create presentations, booklets, one-pagers, infographics, and process visuals for Procurement and Supply Chain teams.
  • Translate procurement data, processes, and policies into clear, easy-to-follow charts, diagrams, and narratives.
  • Help build a standardized library of graphical resources—templates, slide layouts, icons, chart styles, and style guidance—aligned with Tallgrass brand standards.
  • Review draft presentations and documents and offer constructive input on structure, storytelling, clarity, and visual hierarchy.
  • Help create practical communication aids such as checklists, tip sheets, and before-and-after examples, and support a lunch-and-learn or demo session for the team.
  • Document agents, workflows, and lessons learned in a shared playbook so the work continues after the internship.
  • Follow Company guidelines for responsible AI use, including using approved tools only and protecting confidential, supplier, and personal information.
  • Present an end-of-internship capstone to Procurement and Supply Chain Automation leadership summarizing what you built, what you learned, and recommendations for next steps.

What you will learn:

  • Agentic AI fundamentals—how AI agents, personas, instructions, tools, and multi-step orchestration work together in a real business setting.
  • Prompt and workflow design, including how to test, compare, and improve AI-generated results.
  • Human-in-the-loop quality review and the responsible, ethical use of AI in a corporate environment.
  • Visual design principles and how brand standards and templates create consistency at scale.
  • Business storytelling and executive communication—structuring a message around the key takeaway for a specific audience.
  • Procurement and supply chain fundamentals in the midstream energy industry.
  • Professional presentation skills through regular demos and a capstone presentation to leadership.

What you will bring:
