Description:

AgreeYa is global Integrator and seeking an Azure Cosmos DB Developer with strong expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale, mission-critical applications running on Azure Cosmos DB. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building highly available, high-throughput, always-on solutions while balancing architecture, production support, and performance optimization responsibilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Cosmos DB Subject Matter Expert (SME) capable of guiding architecture and supporting production environments.
• Proven experience designing scalable, resilient, and highly available Cosmos DB solutions.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot performance issues and optimize RU consumption, throughput, and latency.
• Comfortable partnering with application, infrastructure, and architecture teams to improve performance, reliability, and operational excellence.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of software engineering and database development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Azure Cosmos DB experience in production environments.
• Strong expertise in:
• Cosmos DB data modeling and partitioning strategies.
• Query optimization and performance tuning.
• Throughput and RU/s optimization.
• Indexing policies and Change Feed processing.
• Multi-region deployment and global distribution.
• High availability and disaster recovery patterns.
• Monitoring and observability.
• Experience supporting high-volume, always-on enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience with Azure services including:
• Azure Functions
• App Services
• AKS
• Event Hubs
• Service Bus
• Application Insights
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to provide both strategic architectural guidance and hands-on production support.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in financial services or regulated industries.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
• Experience with .NET and/or Java applications.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience establishing governance, operational standards, and performance best practices.
• Experience with cost optimization, scalability, and long-term platform improvements.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
