ION SME / Front Office Application Support Engineer

London | Hybrid | Contract

Up to £850 per day - Inside IR35

Our client are seeking an experienced ION SME / Front Office Application Support Engineer to join its Front Office Technology team, supporting business-critical Fixed Income trading platforms.

This is a hands-on role supporting live electronic trading environments, working closely with traders, technology teams and key stakeholders to ensure the stability, performance and continuous improvement of Front Office trading systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide L3 production support for Front Office Fixed Income trading applications and the ION platform.
2. Support the end-to-end trade lifecycle, from trade execution through to downstream processing and settlement.
3. Configure, maintain and troubleshoot ION components and trading applications.
4. Coordinate production releases, system changes and platform upgrades.
5. Maintain Production and Disaster Recovery environments to ensure maximum availability.
6. Partner with traders, developers and infrastructure teams to resolve complex technical issues and improve system performance.

Required Experience

1. Strong experience supporting the ION Trading Platform within an Investment Banking environment.
2. Proven Front Office support experience across Fixed Income, Rates, Credit or Swaps .
3. Knowledge of electronic trading venues such as Bloomberg, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, BrokerTec or MTS .
4. Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, including STP, trade processing, positions and risk.
5. Experience working within Linux production environments.
6. Knowledge of Sybase, SQL, TCL scripting and JIRA would be advantageous.
