Job Description

Regulatory / Transaction Reporting Business Analyst - EMIR, MAS
The Opportunity

A leading global quantitative investment manager is looking for an experienced Transaction Reporting Business Analyst to join its Regulatory Reporting team within Compliance.

Working closely with Compliance, Trading, Operations and Technology, you will support the firm's global transaction reporting obligations, with a primary focus on EMIR and MAS, alongside exposure to MiFIR, SFTR and other regulatory regimes.

Important

This is not a BAU regulatory reporting operations role. The successful candidate must combine strong transaction-reporting knowledge with genuine Business Analysis and regulatory-change delivery experience, including the ability to proactively identify issues, determine their root cause and drive solutions through Technology.

The ideal candidate will be joining from a similar Hedge Fund, Investment Manager, Investment Bank and Prop Trading Firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and support end-to-end transaction reporting requirements, with a particular focus on EMIR and MAS.
  • Interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into business and technical requirements.
  • Design and enhance reporting workflows, controls and processes.
  • Proactively identify reporting errors, data issues and control gaps, investigating root causes and driving permanent remediation.
  • Perform root-cause analysis across trade flows, source data, reporting logic and downstream systems.
  • Produce BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, process flows, data mappings and UAT scripts.
  • Work closely with Technology across design, development, testing, UAT and implementation.
  • Assess reporting requirements for new products, markets and regulatory changes.
  • Drive process improvement and automation across regulatory reporting workflows.

Key Requirements
  • 5+ years' Business Analyst experience within transaction or regulatory reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of EMIR and MAS derivatives reporting.
  • Exposure to MiFIR and SFTR; CFTC, FCA or ASIC reporting experience is also relevant.
  • Strong multi-asset product and trade-lifecycle knowledge, including events, valuations, collateral and counterparty data.
  • Strong experience translating regulations into business and Technology solutions.
  • Proven ability to independently identify reporting errors, data issues and control weaknesses and drive them through to resolution.
  • Strong stakeholder management across Compliance, Operations, Trading and Technology.
  • Strong data analysis capability using Excel, SQL, Power BI or similar.
  • Self-directed, analytical and comfortable challenging stakeholders and recommending solutions.
