About the job
SOVRA is looking for a Legal Content Technician to support the expansion of the Edilex product outside Quebec as new customers begin using the product. This new role combines customer implementation work with ongoing legal content and product maintenance.
Your work will span legal content creation (templates) for customers to use within the product, as well as turning customer requirements into custom legal documents.
The work sits between legal content, technology, implementation, and customer service. It requires a practical understanding of business contracts, careful attention to detail, confidence with technology, and the ability to work through the unknowns that come with taking an established product into a new market.
What will your main responsibilities look like?
Customer Implementation
You manage implementation work with a small portfolio of customers, coordinating timelines, deliverables, and follow-through from setup through completion.
You configure Edilex technology for customers as they onboard, translating agreed requirements into a usable setup.
You build custom legal templates for individual customers during implementation and help ensure those templates are ready for practical use.
Legal Content & Template Development
You draft, model, review, and update business contracts and other legal documents for use within SOVRA software and products.
You create reusable legal templates for the broader customer base and maintain existing content as product needs evolve.
Product Quality & Maintenance
You perform quality checks on software, legal content, and related services to identify issues before they affect customer use.
You maintain legal content within the product and support updates required as the customer base and market expand.
Legal & Customer Partnership
You work with lawyers and other team members on related legal-content work, bringing questions forward when legal interpretation requires additional guidance.
You build customer-service capability within the role by identifying ways to improve implementation support and the ongoing customer experience.
What will you bring to this role?
Relevant education or equivalent experience — you have a college diploma in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
Legal or administrative track record — you have at least two years of experience as a legal assistant, legal technician, legal secretary, legal content editor, administrative technician, or in a related field.
Business contract understanding — you have a general understanding of legal contracts and can work carefully with business contract content.
Technology proficiency — you are proficient with Microsoft Office applications and comfortable learning technology used to create and maintain legal content.
English and French working ability — you communicate primarily in English and have a good working understanding of French for collaboration and source material.
Independent implementation ownership — you can manage timelines, project work, and deliverables independently while maintaining accuracy and follow-through.
Authorization to work in the US or Canada — we are not able to sponsor work visas or transfers at this time.
You should apply if
You enjoy turning detailed legal content into structured, usable materials that customers can work with confidently.
You want a role that combines independent implementation ownership with close collaboration across legal, product, and customer work.
You are interested in helping an established legal technology product reach customers in a new market and improving the experience as the program grows.
What we look for in applications
We review every application individually and assess it on its own merits rather than screening for keywords. The most useful applications show what you prepared, reviewed, configured, or implemented, who used the work, and the outcome, with numbers wherever you have them. If you name Microsoft Office or another technology, briefly explain what you used it to do, because a tool list alone says little about your contribution. Specific detail about your own work tells us more than a general summary of responsibilities.
What does success look like?
By 3 months: You have developed a deep working understanding of the Edilex software and how legal content is configured within it.
By 6 months: You implement customers alongside the team, managing meaningful parts of the work with support when needed.
By 12 months: You independently own customer implementations and identify opportunities to strengthen product support and customer service.
Our interview process
Our interview process is thorough, respects your time, and includes three conversations focused on the substance of the role and how you would work with customers and the team.
Recruiter Screen — a conversation with a Recruiter about your background, legal-content experience, technology comfort, language capability, and approach to independent project work.
Hiring Manager Screen — a conversation with the Public Procurement Director focused on the role, customer implementation work, legal content, and how you would operate within the growing program.
Team Interview — a conversation with team members focused on collaboration, legal-content work, implementation, and customer support.
Why you should join us
SOVRA serves the public sector, and the work carries the weight that comes with that purpose. Every improvement to our platform helps government agencies operate more efficiently and deliver greater value to the communities they serve. We are a company in a period of deliberate growth, and we are looking for professionals who want genuine ownership of their work and a direct hand in building the organization around them.
In this role, that ownership is real: your work in legal content and implementation shapes how SOVRA brings Edilex to customers outside Quebec.
Our benefits include the following, with full details shared during the hiring process:
Comprehensive health and medical coverage.
Paid time off.
A structured learning and development program.
Paid parental leave.
If this role aligns with your experience and ambitions, we encourage you to apply.
Thank you for your interest in SOVRA. However, only selected candidates will be contacted.
