Role overview
The Development Chemist will be a scientist working at the forefront of science, engineering, and technology. As a member of our technical team, you will be responsible for contributing to the process development of our new, safe and disruptive fluorinating processes and scaling-up our technology. You will be part of a growing team of inspiring and supportive scientists and engineers working to revolutionize fluorination chemistry worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply a range of synthetic and analytical methodologies to develop industrially relevant, next-generation syntheses of fluorinated compounds across a range of scales.
- Tackle R&D and process development challenges and develop new routes to fluorochemicals using our latest technology.
- Design and execute experimental work in inorganic and/or organic synthesis.
- Take ownership of technical projects, driving them from concept through to delivery
Essential
- Chemistry degree (BSc/MChem/MSc or equivalent) and 2+ years of relevant R&D experience.
- Experience with organic or inorganic synthesis.
- Right to live and work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience in mechanochemistry, solid-state chemistry, and associated characterisation techniques, such as PXRD.
- PhD in Chemistry.
- Experience in fluorine chemistry.
- Experience working under inert atmosphere conditions, including the use of gloveboxes and/or Schlenk lines.
- Experience with reaction optimisation.
- Experience working closely with analytical scientists.
Competitive salary £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
