Position Overview:As a Software Integration Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering advanced Defence capability across Hanwha Defence Australia's land systems programs. Working within our Software Engineering team, you will integrate, deploy, and support mission-critical software solutions that enable the next generation of military platforms.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex C4I, vehicle systems, and software integration challenges in a collaborative environment where innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement are highly valued. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, industry partners, and Defence stakeholders to help shape and deliver cutting-edge capability for the Australian Defence Force.
Primary Duties:- Integrate, deploy, and maintain software components across HDA's Electronic Architecture and land platform programs.
- Support the integration of software solutions using Australian Generic Vehicle Architecture (AS GVA) and Australian Land Data Model (AS LDM) standards.
- Contribute to secure-by-design engineering practices in partnership with cyber security specialists.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and deliver program outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance and input to engineering planning, scheduling, and delivery activities.
- Take ownership of software deliverables, proactively managing progress, risks, issues, and priorities.
You are an enthusiastic and hands-on software integration professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems and working across multidisciplinary teams. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, and take ownership of delivering high-quality outcomes. You bring a practical understanding of software integration in complex systems and enjoy working across both Windows and Linux environments. Most importantly, you're motivated by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful Defence capability and continue developing your technical expertise.
Experience:We're interested in candidates who have experience in some or most of the following:
- Software and system integration, deployment, testing, and support, ideally within Defence, Land C4I, or complex mission systems environments.
- Working with technologies such as AS GVA, AS LDM, RTI-DDS, CAN, Docker, Podman, GitLab CI/CD, Python, Bash, Ansible, virtualisation platforms, and network configuration.
- Integrating and supporting software across Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Implementing operating system hardening and secure software deployment practices.
- Supporting systems with demanding security, safety, and human factors requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry experience in software integration, systems engineering, or Defence technology environments.
- Must be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
