Job Description

AlphaGov is seeking experienced Investigative Interviewing Instructors to support training and professional development for government and public-sector organizations.

We are interested in professionals who can turn investigative experience into practical instruction—helping investigators prepare for interviews, build rapport, ask effective questions, evaluate information, and document findings. Experience with the P.E.A.C.E. investigative interviewing model is especially relevant.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver instructor-led training in investigative interviewing and effective information gathering.
  • Teach interview preparation, rapport building, questioning techniques, active listening, and interview evaluation.
  • Facilitate realistic scenarios, role-playing exercises, and group discussions.
  • Assess participant performance and provide practical feedback.
  • Develop or adapt lesson plans, presentations, exercises, and participant materials.
  • Tailor instruction to the agency’s mission, investigative responsibilities, and participant experience.
  • Coordinate with project managers and subject matter experts to maintain consistent training quality.
  • At least five years of professional investigative interviewing experience.
  • At least three years of experience as an instructor, trainer, or educator.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and facilitate engaging adult learning.
  • Experience conducting criminal, civil, regulatory, administrative, workplace, or comparable investigations.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Availability to travel for scheduled training engagements.

Preferred experience

  • Applying or teaching the P.E.A.C.E. investigative interviewing model.
  • Training government investigators, law enforcement personnel, inspectors, auditors, or compliance professionals.
  • Developing scenario-based exercises and evaluating interviewing skills.
  • Teaching ethical, evidence-based interviewing methods.

Certain assignments require at least three years of P.E.A.C.E.-specific experience. Please clearly describe your experience with this model in your application.

Opportunity details

We welcome current and former investigators, academy instructors, investigative trainers, and experienced practitioners with teaching backgrounds. Opportunities may include ongoing employment or individual training engagements.

This posting supports current and anticipated client needs. Assignments, schedules, locations, and employment arrangements depend on project requirements and, where applicable, contract award. Compensation will be discussed based on experience and scope.

How to apply

Submit your résumé and a brief summary of your investigative interviewing and teaching experience. Include the interviewing models you have used, audiences you have trained, and your availability for travel.
