Senior Design Engineer

A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Dungannon, specialising in the design and production of high-quality screening, recycling, and material handling equipment. Your New Role As a Design Engineer, you will join an experienced and collaborative engineering team, playing a key role in the design and development of machinery from concept through to production. You will be responsible for delivering practical, cost-effective solutions while ensuring high standards of quality and performance. Key responsibilities will include: Producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software Designing components and assemblies for screening and material handling equipment Supporting product development from initial concept through to manufacture Liaising with production, procurement, and external suppliers to ensure design feasibility Conducting design calculations and engineering analysis Driving continuous improvement initiatives within product design Assisting with testing, validation, and troubleshooting Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards and health & safety requirements What You'll Need to be successful in this role, you should have: A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Proven experience in a design engineering role within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) Experience in fabrication, sheet metal, or machinery design Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Excellent communication skills Desirable: Experience within recycling, quarrying, or material handling sectors Knowledge of hydraulic systems or mobile machinery Familiarity with design for manufacture (DFM) and lean principles What You'll Get in Return Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for career progression and professional development Exposure to innovative and technically challenging projects Supportive and forward-thinking work environment What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
