PROJECT MANAGER

Project Manager

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil engineering and water infrastructure?

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join a growing civil engineering business delivering a range of technically challenging water, wastewater and infrastructure projects across Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with experience in water or civil engineering who wants to take ownership of projects, work closely with clients and develop their career within an established contractor.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering and water projects from mobilisation through to completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing water, wastewater and civil engineering projects from inception to completion
  • Taking responsibility for programme, budget, quality and overall project delivery
  • Developing and maintaining detailed project programmes
  • Managing site teams, subcontractors and specialist contractors
  • Coordinating labour, plant, materials and resources
  • Managing client and stakeholder relationships
  • Working closely with commercial teams to monitor project costs
  • Managing variations, change and project risks
  • Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to senior management
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely and to specification
  • Attending client and progress meetings
  • Managing project documentation and reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM, health & safety and environmental requirements
  • Supporting the successful handover and completion of projects
About You

The ideal Project Manager will have:

  • Proven experience delivering civil engineering projects
  • Experience within water, wastewater, utilities or infrastructure
  • Experience managing projects from start to finish
  • Strong programme and project-management skills
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Strong client and stakeholder-management skills
  • Excellent understanding of health & safety
  • A relevant civil engineering/construction qualification

Experience working on Scottish Water frameworks or similar water infrastructure projects would be highly advantageous.
