Job Summary

Cybersecurity Engineers design and implement secure network architectures and solutions to protect the institution's digital assets against cyber threats. This role involves analyzing security requirements, developing security protocols, and collaborating with IT teams to ensure the effective deployment of security technologies.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - 
Design and implement secure network architectures and solutions to protect the institution's digital assets from internal and external threats.

Job Duty 2 - 
Analyze security requirements and develop security policies, standards, and procedures to guide the implementation of cybersecurity measures.

Job Duty 3 - 
Conduct security assessments and penetration testing to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls and identify areas for improvement.

Job Duty 4 - 
Monitor security alerts and events to identify and respond to potential threats, ensuring that vulnerabilities are addressed in a timely manner.

Job Duty 5 - 
Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices to ensure that the institution's security posture remains robust.

Job Duty 6 - 
Develop and deliver training programs for technical staff on secure coding practices and the implementation of security controls in system designs.

Job Duty 7 - 
Document security processes, configurations, and incident response procedures to ensure compliance and facilitate knowledge sharing within the organization.

Job Duty 8 - 
Participate in incident response activities, including investigating breaches, analyzing their impact, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Job Duty 9 - 
Collaborate with Information Technology teams to deploy and configure security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption solutions.

Job Duty 10 - 
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Required Qualifications
Position requires creative and original thinking, especially regarding marketing strategy and product marketing.

Required Experience
Eight or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or equivalent certification Application of required skills in a higher education environment

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

Preferred Qualifications

A successful candidate will have:

  • Advanced SIEM & EDR Mastery: Proven track record designing, building, and optimizing custom detection logic across enterprise SIEM and EDR/XDR platforms.

  • Deep Telemetry Expertise: Expert understanding of OS internals (Windows, Linux, macOS) and deep familiarity with endpoint, network, and cloud telemetry source logs to identify subtle adversary behaviors.

  • Security Stack Engineering: Demonstrated ability to manage, fine-tune, and maintain application-level configurations and detection rules across the security technology stack to minimize false positives and maximize signal-to-noise ratio.

  • Adversary Emulation & TTPs: Solid understanding of modern adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), threat intelligence integration, and applying detection-as-code principles.

  • Technical Mentorship & Leadership: Demonstrated capability to mentor junior/mid-level analysts, guide incident response escalations, and lead technical project initiatives.

  • Project & Time Management: Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize critical detection engineering backlogs while responding to operational security demands.
