Job Description

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a talented Privacy & Cyber Litigation Associate with 4 to 6 years of experience to join its growing team in Chicago. This opportunity offers the chance to work on sophisticated, high-profile privacy, cybersecurity, consumer protection, and class action matters for leading clients across a variety of industries.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Lead fact investigations and develop case strategies.
  • Conduct legal research and draft substantive motions, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, and other key pleadings.
  • Handle day-to-day case management responsibilities and coordinate litigation teams.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel and assist in settlement discussions.
  • Support clients facing privacy-related disputes, cyber incidents, consumer claims, and other regulatory or litigation challenges.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on large-scale federal and state court matters.

Qualifications

  • 4 to 6 years of law firm litigation experience.
  • Experience handling privacy, cybersecurity, consumer protection, class action, or complex federal court litigation is strongly preferred.
  • Strong case management skills and the ability to independently manage litigation responsibilities.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy abilities.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with clients and manage client relationships.
  • Federal clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Experience with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or other privacy-related statutes is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative national practice.
  • Active bar admission and good standing in the state where you reside.
