Job description
About the Role
Join a small, growing team in the space and defense sector as its first dedicated electrical and computer engineer. You will lead development of a satellite flight computer and help design GPU compute electronics for in-orbit AI inference.
What You'll Do
Design and own the flight computer for an upcoming satellite mission.
Build prototypes, bring up hardware, and debug systems in the Los Angeles lab alongside engineering leadership.
Work with external manufacturing partners to develop electronics and compute systems for a full-scale satellite.
Guide high-speed interconnect decisions, including NVLink and SerDes, and evaluate photonics and optical interconnects.
Develop firmware and platform software for payloads as needed.
What We're Looking For
Between 0 and 15 years of electrical or computer engineering experience, with at least one year at a high-growth, venture-backed startup or experience in a zero-to-one environment.
A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
End-to-end custom board or system-board design experience, including schematics, high-speed PCB layout, hardware bring-up, and debugging.
Knowledge of high-speed digital design, signal integrity, and power integrity.
Experience with GPUs, accelerators, SoCs, large ASICs, photonics, optical interconnects, networking, or contract manufacturers is valuable.
Space, satellite, or radiation-hardened hardware experience is beneficial, as is experience alongside aerospace or government contracting work.
U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual base salary: $120,000 to $220,000.
