Job Description

Director - Global Data Analytics

Please Note : Athol, MA (headquarters). Person can live anywhere on the east coast or central –will have to travel to HQ --client will pay for travel/hotel . Periodic travel to offices in the UK, China, and Brazil.

 

Hiring Manager Notes:

·         Experience with sales and operational planning skills IS A MUST

·         Strong Manufacturing experience - Must have recent Manufacturing exp-client is not interested in other industries

·         Global experience is Necessary

 

Responsibilities:

 

Leadership & Strategy

·         Develop and implement a global data analytics strategy that aligns with business goals across manufacturing, finance, operations, and commercial functions.

·         Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed team of data analysts and business intelligence users.

·         Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making from the shop floor to the executive suite.

·         Partner with senior leadership to identify and prioritize where analytics can deliver measurable business value.

 

Data Management & Integration

·         Oversee collection, storage, and governance of data from internal systems and external sources across global sites.

·         Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy through strong data governance practices and ownership.

·         Integrate disparate data sources — including ERP, CRM, and operational systems — into cohesive datasets ready for analysis.

·         Develop and maintain data documentation, metadata standards, and data dictionaries across the organization.

 

Advanced Analytics & Reporting

·         Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and predictive analytics to surface insights that drive business decisions.

·         Design and deliver dashboards, reports, and visualizations that clearly communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

·         Analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, correlations, and anomalies across global operations.

·         Define, implement, and track KPIs and metrics that measure the success of data initiatives.

 

Collaboration & Communication

·         Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, finance, marketing, and operations to understand analytics needs and deliver solutions.

·         Translate complex analytical findings into plain language for non-technical stakeholders — clearly, not condescendingly.

·         Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, data partners, and industry experts.

 

Compliance & Security

·         Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy laws and regulatory frameworks (GDPR and others relevant to global operations).

·         Implement and enforce data security protocols to protect sensitive organizational and customer data.

·         Monitor and respond to data incidents promptly; escalate as appropriate.

 

Required:

·         8–10 years of experience in data analytics, with at  least 5 years in a leadership role

·         Demonstrated success leading analytics teams and delivering measurable business outcomes

·         Strong proficiency in SQL and data manipulation at scale

·         Hands-on experience with BI and visualization tools — Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent

·         Experience with enterprise data platforms: Oracle,  SQL Server, or similar

·         Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or multisite global environment

·         Exposure to ETL processes and data lake architecture

·         Hands-on experience with predictive modeling or ML in a business context

·         Familiarity with iPaaS or data integration platforms

·         Experience navigating IT/OT data environments

·         Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field

·         Familiarity with cloud platforms: Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

·         Solid grounding in data governance, privacy regulations, and data security best practices

·         Strong communicator — equally effective with data engineers and C-suite executives

·         Background working with international teams across multiple time zones

·         Ability to manage multiple priorities across a globally distributed, fast-moving organization
