About the Role

Psyoptic Studios Trial Services is seeking an experienced Trial Technology Specialist to support litigation teams during trials, hearings, and other courtroom proceedings. This is a hands-on, client-facing role for a professional who is comfortable working in high-pressure trial environments and understands that courtroom technology must be prepared, reliable, and ready to perform when called upon.

The Trial Technology Specialist will work directly with attorneys, paralegals, litigation teams, and Psyoptic Studios personnel to prepare case materials, set up courtroom technology, manage trial presentation databases, and present exhibits and other evidence in court.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide live courtroom presentation and hot-seat trial support
• Prepare, organize, and manage electronic trial exhibits and presentation databases
• Present documents, photographs, demonstratives, deposition clips, and other evidence during trial
• Operate OnCue, TrialDirector, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and related litigation presentation software
• Prepare and manage deposition video clips and designation materials provided by the trial team
• Create and maintain exhibit call-outs, highlights, zooms, annotations, and other courtroom presentation materials
• Coordinate closely with attorneys regarding exhibit presentation and anticipated courtroom needs
• Set up, test, operate, and troubleshoot courtroom and war-room technology
• Work with monitors, televisions, projectors, document cameras, video switching equipment, laptops, networking equipment, and related AV systems
• Conduct pretrial technology checks and courtroom walkthroughs when required
• Maintain organized case files and ensure presentation materials are readily accessible during trial
• Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and professionally without disrupting courtroom proceedings
• Assist with courtroom setup and breakdown before and after trial
• Maintain confidentiality and professional handling of sensitive client and case information
• Communicate professionally with attorneys, legal staff, court personnel, vendors, and Psyoptic Studios team members
• Travel to trial locations as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Trial Technician, Trial Technology Consultant, Hot-Seat Operator, Litigation Support Specialist, or Courtroom Presentation Specialist
• Experience supporting attorneys during live jury or bench trials
• Strong working knowledge of OnCue and/or TrialDirector
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Understanding of trial exhibits, deposition designations, demonstratives, and courtroom presentation workflows
• Strong computer, AV, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to organize and manage large volumes of electronic case materials
• Ability to anticipate attorney needs and respond quickly during live proceedings
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Professional demeanor in court and around clients
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a trial team
• Ability to work extended or irregular hours during active trials
• Willingness to travel for assignments

Engagement

This is primarily a contract/project-based opportunity, with assignments dependent upon Psyoptic Studios' trial calendar and client requirements. Assignments may involve local California matters as well as travel throughout the United States.

Trial schedules may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, or extended trial days depending upon the needs of the case.
