Job Description

HR Payroll Specialist | Essen, Germany | Hybrid

We are seeking an HR Payroll Specialist to join a dynamic team within a leading international retail organization, renowned for pioneering the discount supermarket concept. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to efficient HR operations and drive forward HR transformation initiatives.

The Role

  • Manage the accurate and timely execution of monthly payroll for various companies, ensuring compliance with all legal, contractual, and internal regulations.
  • Prepare employment contracts, references, and maintain employee records and archives.
  • Serve as a key advisor to employees and management on payroll-related matters, including labor, income tax, and social security legislation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for health insurance providers, social security agencies, and authorities, handling all necessary reporting and certifications.
  • Reconcile and process payroll data for accounting purposes, including journal entries and provisions.
  • Stay updated and implement changes in payroll legislation and requirements.
  • Analyze current processes to identify and implement optimization opportunities.

What You'll Need

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship and several years of experience in payroll or HR administration.
  • Solid understanding of current labor, income tax, and social security law.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with HR administration and payroll systems, ideally SAP HCM or P&I Loga.
  • High level of commitment, strong service orientation, initiative, and independent working style.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, reliability, and resilience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Interest and enthusiasm for digital (HR) transformation.
