Network Routing Engineer (Telecom) - 175073 with Security Clearance

Piper Companies is seeking a Network Routing Engineer to join a leading telecommunications organization in the Dallas, TX area. The Network Routing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex routing environments while ensuring optimal network performance and reliability across carrier-grade infrastructure. This role is ideal for an experienced networking professional with deep telecom protocol expertise, strong routing knowledge, and hands-on experience with Cisco or Juniper technologies.

Responsibilities of the Network Routing Engineer: • Design, configure, and maintain large-scale Layer 2 and Layer 3 network environments. • Troubleshoot and optimize routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS within telecom networks. • Support carrier-grade network infrastructure utilizing Cisco and/or Juniper routers and switches. • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex network performance and connectivity issues. • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to implement network enhancements and upgrades. • Support SIP and IP-based services while ensuring high availability and quality of service. • Participate in network design reviews, capacity planning, and infrastructure modernization initiatives. • Develop and maintain network documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.

Qualifications of the Network Routing Engineer: • Must be eligible to obtain a secret clearance. • 5+ years of experience in network engineering within a telecommunications environment. • Strong expertise in routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other carrier-grade networking technologies. • Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper routing platforms. • Deep understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts and architectures. • Working knowledge of SIP, IP networking, and telecom transport technologies. • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues in large-scale production environments. • Experience supporting service provider or carrier networks preferred. • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.

Compensation for the Network Routing Engineer includes: • Salary range: $80,000 - $130,000 depending on experience • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO This job opens for applications on 09/25/2026.
