Job description
FusionIRX is seeking a Commissioning Lead SME – Process Chemicals to provide leadership, technical authority, and integrity-driven guidance on mission-critical projects. The successful candidate will ensure that chemical process systems — from ultrapure chemicals to specialty gases and liquid distribution networks — are designed, installed, tested, and validated to meet owner requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations.
This role requires an expert who thrives in high-stakes environments, collaborates seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, and consistently demonstrates honesty, transparency, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end commissioning process for process chemical systems, ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for process chemicals, advising owners, design teams, and contractors on design intent, constructability, and performance verification.
- Develop commissioning plans, protocols, and functional test procedures specific to chemical and specialty gas systems.
- Oversee pre-functional checks, system start-up, integrated system testing, and final turnover documentation.
- Validate compliance with industry codes, owner requirements, and EH&S standards (OSHA, SEMI, NFPA, ASME, etc.).
- Provide technical leadership during troubleshooting, issue resolution, and risk mitigation.
- Mentor and train commissioning engineers and junior staff, instilling technical excellence and FusionIRX’s ethical values.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with owners, EPCs, contractors, and third-party vendors through professionalism and integrity.
- Contribute thought leadership to FusionIRX’s commissioning best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in commissioning and/or operations of process chemical systems within semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Deep knowledge of process utility systems (UPW, bulk/specialty chemicals, slurry, waste treatment, gases).
- Proven track record of commissioning leadership on complex, high-value industrial projects.
- Strong familiarity with industry standards and regulatory codes (SEMI, OSHA PSM, NFPA, ASME).
- Exceptional communication and documentation skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams with integrity.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or Commissioning Certification (e.g., CxA, QCxP) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, ethics, and client-first values.
- A values-driven culture where integrity, excellence, and accountability guide every decision.
- Opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects that shape the future of technology and infrastructure.
- Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a collaborative team environment.
- The ability to make a lasting impact as part of an organization recognized for delivering results with honesty and professionalism.
