Position Summary:
Upscale Remodeling are looking for an experienced carpenter to join our residential remodeling team. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of quality craftsmanship, and can work independently while contributing to a larger project team. Our projects range from detailed kitchens and bathrooms to additions, renovations, and custom carpentry. We value people who know their trade, pay attention to the details, solve problems in the field, and take ownership of their work from start to finish. Work collaboratively with the design, production, fellow carpenters, and office teams to plan, build, and complete projects. While you may work independently on a job site, this is a team-oriented role that requires communication, accountability, and a commitment to the success of the project and the team as a whole.
• Manage and execute assigned remodeling and construction projects, coordinating with subcontractors and working independently or under the direction of production leadership, as appropriate.
• Serve as the on-site liaison for Upscale Remodeling, keeping all team members in the field and office up to speed with project progress, and client needs.
• Review project scope, details, site conditions, and client expectations comprehensively. Delegate, assist with, and perform designated construction tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and subcontractors, assigning tasks with clear timelines and expectations. • Enforce company and industry safety guidelines for all team members and subcontractors.
• Provide daily job log photos to BuilderTrend project management app/website.
• Address client questions and concerns promptly, aiming to have the appropriate party respond to the client within 24 hours.
• Maintain a smoke-free work environment at all times. Leadership: Lead by example. Be honest, humble, levelheaded, people-oriented, and quality-minded.
• Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate with fellow Carpenters on multiple projects, prioritizing departmental needs and maintaining flexibility with scheduling and staffing.
• Maintain and reinforce the company’s standards of professionalism among all team members and subcontractors.
• Take opportunities to learn from fellow team members and share knowledge and skills with others when appropriate.
Qualifications:
Minimum of eight (5) years of carpentry experience with expertise in all phases of residential remodeling and construction procedures.
• Proficient in rough carpentry, including floor, deck, wall, and roof framing, as well as layout knowledge of foundations, rafters, and stairs, and structural load-path understanding.
• Experienced in finish carpentry, including trim work, cabinetry installation, and interior finishes.
• Strong communication skills, able to effectively interact with clients, team members, vendors, and specialty trade contractors.
• Capable of both following direction and providing leadership, supervision, direction, mentoring, and teaching to other team members.
• Excellent listening and comprehension abilities, along with proficiency in understanding construction drawings, scopes of work, specifications, contracts, and business correspondence.
• Willingness to adapt to and embrace new technology, apps, and software relevant to the industry. • Keen eye for quality and a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
• Valid NYS driver’s license required.

Tool and Equipment Requirements • Carpenters are expected to supply and maintain all the standard hand and power tools necessary for this position. Items such as ladders, scaffolding, blades, other consumables, etc., are provided by the company.
• Clean, reliable, pick-up truck or van.
Physical Requirements • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness. • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and sitting. • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds. • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds. • Ability to climb and work off ladders up to 30 feet, and work at heights up to 40 feet off the ground. • Must be able to use a computer and see color. • Ability to travel to job sites daily, and transport tools and materials to and from efficiently.
Pay Rate Range: $28.00 - $38.00 Depending on Experience
Full Time Job Opportunity: 35-40 Hours Per Week
