Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in IBM Transformation Extender (IBM ITX) and ANSI X12 EDI transactions. This role is focused on designing, developing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions for the transportation and logistics industry. The position requires technical leadership, hands-on development, and collaboration with business stakeholders and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance EDI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain IBM ITX maps and integration solutions.
• Analyze business and EDI requirements and translate them into technical designs and ITX mapping specifications.
• Develop and maintain ANSI X12 transaction maps supporting transportation and logistics workflows.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing IBM ITX maps and integration processes.
• Collaborate with business analysts, EDI analysts, solution architects, and trading partners to implement new integrations.
• Perform impact analysis for new customer onboarding, trading partner changes, and regulatory updates.
• Support production environments by diagnosing mapping failures, data validation issues, and transaction processing errors.
• Create reusable mapping components and establish best practices for IBM ITX development.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design reviews, and architecture discussions.
• Develop unit tests and support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and production deployments.
• Document technical designs, mapping logic, and operational procedures.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on EDI and IBM ITX best practices.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 7+ years of software engineering experience with enterprise integration solutions, including 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Transformation Extender (IBM ITX). Experience developing and maintaining IBM ITX maps and troubleshooting production EDI issues.

Technical Skills: Deep understanding of ANSI X12 EDI standards and experience with transportation and logistics EDI transactions (204, 210, 214, 990, 997/999, 820). Experience integrating with AS2, SFTP, FTP, MQ, or REST APIs. Strong understanding of EDI validation, acknowledgments, and envelopes. Familiarity with XML, JSON, CSV, and flat-file transformations. Experience using version control systems such as Git.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Java, Python, or scripting languages.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Transportation Domain Experience.
