Role: Senior Design Engineer (Agentic AI)
Location: Remote
Schedule: EST Hours
Rate: $65/hour W2
We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Agentic AI) to help shape the user experience for a next-generation Agentic AI platform. This individual will work closely with engineers and technical stakeholders to design intuitive workflows, interfaces, and user interactions for AI-powered systems.
The current experience operates primarily through Slack, and this role will help define and design the evolution toward a full-featured web-based user interface. The ideal candidate can translate complex AI capabilities into clear, user-friendly experiences and collaborate directly with engineering teams to determine what is technically feasible and most valuable for end users.
Responsibilities

Partner closely with software engineers to define and design AI-driven user experiences.
Create wireframes, mockups, user flows, and high-fidelity designs for new product capabilities.
Help transform existing Slack-based workflows into scalable web application experiences.
Design intuitive interfaces for interacting with AI agents, workflows, and automation tools.
Gather requirements from technical stakeholders and convert them into thoughtful UX solutions.
Develop user journeys that simplify complex AI and automation processes.
Work through rapid design iterations in a fast-paced product environment.
Establish and maintain design standards, component libraries, and UI consistency.
Conduct usability reviews and provide recommendations for product improvements.
Balance user needs, engineering constraints, and business objectives when making design decisions.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of Product Design, UI/UX Design, or related experience.
Experience designing web-based software products or SaaS platforms.
Strong proficiency with Figma and modern design tools.
Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity UI designs.
Ability to work directly with engineering teams and participate in technical product discussions.
Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and user-centered design principles.
Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing AI, conversational, workflow automation, or productivity applications.
Experience designing interfaces that extend or replace chat-based user experiences.
Familiarity with agentic AI concepts, LLM-powered applications, or human-in-the-loop workflows.
Experience working in startup or fast-moving product environments.
Understanding of frontend technologies and design system best practices.
