Senior Solutions Architect (AWS / Cross-Domain) with Security Clearance

Design it, build it, and lead it. Linchpin Software is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect who has designed and delivered real solutions, and still likes getting their hands dirty. You'll shape architecture across a mix of AWS cloud services, including an automated enterprise developer services platform, and take on the hard problems, like secure cross-domain data transfer. This is a player-coach role. One day you're pairing with an engineer to unblock a tricky deployment; the next you're in front of the customer explaining the tradeoffs and earning their trust. We need someone who can do both, and knows when each one is called for.

What You'll Do

• Architect and implement solutions across AWS services, from design through production
• Solve complex integration challenges, including cross-domain data transfers
• Work hands-on with engineers: code reviews, prototypes, troubleshooting
• Lead customer-facing technical engagements and translate mission needs into designs
• Set technical direction and raise the bar on quality, automation, and security
• Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Codex, GitLab Duo) to move faster Required:
• Active Top Secret clearance
• 8+ years of engineering experience, including architecture work
• A proven track record designing AND implementing solutions (not just diagrams)
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS
• Strong communication skills and comfort leading customer conversations
• Ability to work full-time, on-site in Washington, DC (20024) Preferred:
• Experience with cross-domain solutions or multi-classification data movement
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK)
• AWS certification (Solutions Architect Associate or Professional)
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading small teams What You'll Gain:
