Furnace Operator - Melter

Appleton Electric, an Emerson owned metal casting foundry located in South Milwaukee, WI, is currently seeking an experienced Furnace Operator - Melter to join our 2nd shift. The rate of pay is  $26.64/hour plus a $.75/hour shift differential.   In this role, you will learn a variety of jobs in our Melt Department.  Great opportunities for growth.  

Some of the benefits for this position include overtime on hours worked over 8 hours in a day, prorated two week’s vacation and up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave.

 In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Conduct all job duties with Safety as a priority and in compliance with Safety Rules
• Comply with and maintain areas to 5S standards
• Apply chemical treatment to melt furnace
• Operate controls for furnaces and take temperatures
• Operate overhead crane
• Perform pre-check forklift inspections 
• Observe all company rules and regulations

For This Role, You Will Need:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous machine operator experience
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods, strength in arms and legs to maneuver castings and patterns
• Ability to work in a hot environment
