HIL/SIL Test Engineer

Location: Arlington, VA (Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite)

Duration: 6+ months with the possibility for extensions

Join a fast-growing autonomous systems team developing advanced unmanned aircraft capabilities. We are seeking a HIL/SIL Test Engineer to design and execute verification strategies for mission-critical software and hardware systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test environments
• Build automated test frameworks, test harnesses, and verification tools
• Design and execute system-level verification and validation activities
• Analyze test logs, telemetry, and system performance data
• Troubleshoot complex software and hardware integration issues
• Collaborate with software, systems, and test engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in test engineering, integration engineering, verification & validation, or related environments
• Experience developing automated test solutions
• Proficiency with Python and/or C++
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Experience with source control and CI/CD tools

Preferred Qualifications

• HIL/SIL development experience
• Autonomous systems, robotics, UAV, or aerospace experience
• ROS/ROS2 experience
• Familiarity with Conan and/or Nix
• Experience with simulation environments
• Active security clearance
