Applications Engineer - DV cleared

Are you an experienced DV clearedApplications Engineer with a strong background in deploying, supporting, and maintaining applications within complex enterprise environments? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work on a high-profile programme based in Corsham, Wiltshire. The role requires four days per week onsite.

• Deploy, configure, and support enterprise applications across Windows and Linux platforms.
• Manage the full application lifecycle from installation and configuration to patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Support seamless integration with enterprise services including Active Directory, LDAP, databases, and web services.
• Maintain and optimise application environments across development, test, and production phases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and system issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Implement secure-by-design principles, aligning with security and hardening best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as design diagrams, build guides, and runbooks.
• Support system integration and testing, ensuring successful deployment and operational stability.
• Collaborate with Service Management teams to investigate incidents and support continuous improvement.
• Contribute to automation efforts and process standardisation, enhancing deployment efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise-level applications. You should be familiar with managing environments on Windows and Linux servers and integrating applications with enterprise services, including Active Directory. Strong troubleshooting skills, ability to produce technical artefacts, and understanding of service management principles (ITIL) are essential.

• Experience with middleware or application servers like IIS, Apache, Tomcat
• Scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience within Defence or secure government sectors
• Agile delivery experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence
• Relevant certifications and vendor-specific training

• Contract Type: Initial until 31/03/2028
• Location: Corsham, Wiltshire Hybrid working (4 days onsite)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Day Rate: Up to £700 per day (inside IR35)
• Security Clearance: DV clearance
