CAD Designer / Application Engineer

Specialized Fire & Security seeks a CAD Designer / Application Engineer to design and support fire protection and security system projects for commercial and residential clients. You will create detailed CAD drawings, layouts, and documentation for fire alarms, security, and related low-voltage systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and customer specifications. Collaborate closely with sales, project managers, and field technicians to translate requirements into accurate designs and technical solutions. Responsibilities

• Produce detailed CAD drawings and layouts for fire alarm and security systems
• Translate customer requirements and site information into accurate system designs
• Ensure all designs comply with NFPA, building codes, and company standards
• Collaborate with sales and project managers to develop technical solutions and proposals
• Support field technicians with design clarifications and revisions during installation
• Maintain and update project documentation, drawings, and as-built records
• Review plans, specifications, and blueprints to verify system integration
• Assist in selecting components and preparing bills of materials
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve design issues
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and workflows
