Production Assistant
Position Summary
The Production Assistant supports the Production team in managing the day-to-day production process, ensuring products are manufactured, delivered, and documented accurately and on time. This role coordinates with vendors, suppliers, internal teams, and logistics partners to track production status and resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with managing the production process from purchase order placement through final delivery.
- Communicate with vendors and factories regarding production status, timelines, quantities, and delivery dates.
- Track production schedules, purchase orders, samples, approvals, and shipments.
- Maintain accurate production reports, spreadsheets, and vendor records.
- Follow up on pending samples, approvals, lab dips, fabrics, trims, packaging, and other production requirements.
- Monitor production timelines and proactively identify potential delays or issues.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, Design, Planning, Sourcing, Quality Control, Logistics, and Finance teams.
- Assist with purchase order updates, changes, cancellations, and quantity adjustments.
- Review vendor documentation and ensure required information is complete and accurate.
- Help coordinate inspections and quality-control activities.
- Track shipments and communicate expected delivery dates to internal teams.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies related to quantities, pricing, product specifications, or deliveries.
- Maintain organized production files and documentation.
- Prepare regular production status reports for management.
- Perform other administrative and operational duties as needed to support the Production team.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in production, apparel, sourcing, merchandising, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with vendors or suppliers is a plus.
- Retail, fashion, apparel, or e-commerce experience is preferred.
