About Gramian

Gramian Consultancy is a boutique consultancy specializing in IT professional services and engineering talent solutions. With a strong background in software engineering and leadership, we help companies build high-performing teams by matching them with professionals who truly fit their needs.

About the Role
Our client is a public-sector organization operating business-critical data and analytics platforms that support essential internal services.

We are looking for an experienced Data Specialist to strengthen technical resilience across the organization’s data environment. The initial focus will be on Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Data Warehouse, and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), with scope later extending to additional Microsoft-based data platforms. The role combines hands-on technical analysis with data lineage mapping, documentation, runbook creation, troubleshooting, and structured knowledge transfer.

CONTRACT: 2-year contract with possible extension

COMMITMENT: Full-time

LOCATIONS: EU, remote work, once-a-quarter onsite visit

NOTES: Expected start date 11 January 2027. Fluent English required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document ODI processes supporting the Oracle Data Warehouse.
  • Map source-to-target data flows, transformations, processing logic, and dependencies.
  • Capture scheduling and orchestration details including triggers, sequencing, and upstream/downstream processes.
  • Identify undocumented technical dependencies and potential single points of failure.
  • Work with SMEs and technical teams to capture critical operational knowledge.
  • Create runbooks, operational procedures, recovery guides, and incident documentation.
  • Develop system/process maps, wiki content, and step-by-step technical guides.
  • Lead knowledge-transfer activities including shadowing, walkthroughs, and team sessions.
  • Produce training videos where useful for complex technical processes.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or automate recurring technical processes.
  • 4–6 years of substantial professional experience in data engineering, data platforms, or a closely related role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE).
  • Strong experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Data Warehouse environments.
  • Advanced PL/SQL skills.
  • Practical Python experience.
  • Experience with complex ETL processes, data transformation, and data lineage mapping.
  • Experience creating technical documentation such as runbooks, wikis, knowledge bases, operational guides, or process maps.
  • Fluent English and availability to start from 11 January 2027.
