Structural Engineer Location: Edinburgh<br />Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits<br />Job Type: Permanent | Full Time Are you a Structural Engineer with experience in precast concrete design looking to join an innovative and growing organisation? Our client, a well-established and highly respected specialist within the construction and manufacturing sector, is seeking a Structural Engineer to join their expanding technical team in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of large-scale structural projects, taking responsibility from initial design through to manufacture and site installation. Working closely with senior management, project teams and production departments, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, practical and commercially effective engineering solutions while contributing to the continued development of industry-leading products and processes. The Role As Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Producing structural calculations and technical designs for complex precast concrete projects.
  • Delivering designs from concept through to completion, ensuring compliance with current design codes, building regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensuring structural stability throughout manufacture, lifting, transportation and erection.
  • Producing accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Production teams and site personnel to ensure designs are practical, buildable and delivered to programme.
  • Providing technical support to clients, consultants and internal departments.
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce project costs without compromising safety or quality.
  • Monitoring design programmes and highlighting potential delays or commercial impacts.
  • Resolving technical engineering issues throughout project delivery.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA), product development and implementation of new engineering software. About You The successful candidate will have:
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a structural engineering role within the construction industry.
  • Essential experience designing precast concrete structures.
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis, buildability and engineering best practice.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of relevant British and European design standards and construction regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach with excellent problem-solving skills. What's on Offer
