As a Software Engineer you'll have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in software development and maintenance for critical areas such as Iridium’s satellite application software and virtualized test environment products. In this role, you'll be responsible for collaboratively completing tasks that provide significant value to the team, supporting all phases of software. • Be a key contributor on our agile software development team
• Use (and improve) existing software engineering processes to increase efficiency and quality in the satellite application software product
• New feature development and maintenance updates for the application software product on Iridium’s satellite constellation
• Contribute to the planning and execution of software product releases
• Use Jira, Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Artifactory, and other tools to track changes and automate the provisioning of software artifact
• Work with stakeholders from within the Satellite Software Product Team as well as other parts of the organization to solve challenging problem
• Promote knowledge sharing through briefings, presentations, and other documentation such as UML diagrams and software specifications What You’ll Need to Succeed:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline
• 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in the software engineering industry
• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms, operating systems, and computer architecture
• Proficiency in C / C++ and Python programming languages
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate key messages and ideas clearly and effectively
• Ability to cultivate meaningful and productive relationships with other members of the team
• The ability to think outside the box to help solve problems, with the humility to ask for help when needed
• Adaptability to a dynamic environment and the readiness to take on any new tasks that are handed to you
• A motivation to achieve outcomes and results
• Capable of handling multiple tasks at once and completing them on time with mostly no errors
• An eagerness to develop professionally, continuously learn, and share knowledge with others 

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

• Experience with the following technologies is strongly desired:
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment
• Using git version control
• Knowledge of Agile software development practices
• Working knowledge or willingness to learn the following technologies is desired:
• Atlassian management software suite: Jira / Bitbucket / Crucible / Confluence

We’ll also need you to:

• Be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship
• Ability to work in the office at least 60% of your time (3 days a week) to foster collaboration with the team and stakeholders ( Chandler, AZ ) Work Environment: This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer.

The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.  We believe in-person connection drives innovation, strengthens mentorship, and builds culture, while flexibility enables employees to do their best work. Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $88,000 USD Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors and this range represents an estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Base salary is only one part of our compensation package for this role. You may also be eligible for company stock and annual bonus.
