HPC Systems Administrator with Security Clearance

HPC Systems Administrator (TS/SCI) Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD Work Schedule: 100% Onsite Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI We are seeking an experienced HPC Systems Administrator to support mission-critical High Performance Computing (HPC) environments at Aberdeen Proving Ground. This position supports advanced computing systems used for defense research and operational missions. The successful candidate will administer and maintain large-scale Linux-based HPC environments, support system upgrades, resolve complex technical issues, and maintain security compliance across enterprise computing infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Administer large-scale HPC cluster environments
• Maintain Linux operating systems and associated infrastructure
• Monitor system availability, performance, and operational health
• Troubleshoot complex system and cluster-related issues
• Plan, coordinate, and execute system upgrades
• Apply security patches and remediate vulnerabilities
• Maintain compliance with STIG and security requirements
• Support users and customer requests
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to customer administrators Required Qualifications:
• Active TS/SCI Clearance
• CompTIA Security+ Certification
• CompTIA Linux+ Certification

-10+ years of HPC experience OR Linux Cluster Administration experience

• Strong Linux Systems Administration background
• Experience supporting clustered Linux environments
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Experience implementing security hardening and vulnerability remediation
• Ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• High Performance Computing (HPC) administration experience
• Experience supporting DoD HPC environments
• Experience with:
• Slurm - PBS - Lustre - DDN Storage - Bright Cluster Manager - Cray Systems - HPE HPC Infrastructure - VMware experience - Bash, Python, or automation scripting experience What You'll Gain:
