Mechanical Engineer – Aerospace and Space

Our client is an advanced engineering business developing high-performance products for the aerospace and space sectors. They’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership across complex product development projects.

This hands-on role covers the full engineering lifecycle, from design and analysis through verification and testing. You’ll take technical ownership within projects and work closely with project managers, engineers, production teams and customers to deliver products that meet technical and commercial requirements.

The role

• Lead mechanical engineering activity across project teams.
• Work with project managers to plan engineering tasks and resources.
• Manage engineering work packages to meet delivery, cost and quality requirements.
• Coordinate engineering and technical staff, working closely with project, production and quality teams.
• Review project engineering work with senior engineering colleagues and technical specialists.
• Lead product design, analysis, verification and testing throughout each project.
• Ensure designs meet customer requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation and data packs for design reviews.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal teams.

About you

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
• More than five years’ industrial experience in a relevant engineering environment.
• Experience contributing to the design, development and delivery of engineering projects.
• Familiarity with 3D CAD; SolidWorks experience would be useful.
• Able to provide technical leadership and work collaboratively across project teams.
