Job Description

Role: Google Cloud Platform Platform Engineer

Client: Capital Management Client
Location- Hybrid- Roseland, NJ or Alpharetta, GA

Duration: 12 months with likely extensions

We are seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to help build, enhance, and support a large-scale Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) environment. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone with deep public cloud experience who can help develop the platforms, automation, and tooling that enable engineering teams to build and operate secure, resilient, cloud-native applications at scale
The ideal candidate brings extensive Google Cloud Platform expertise, strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience, and a software engineering mindset toward cloud infrastructure

Required Qualifications

Approximately 10+ years of hands-on architecture and engineering experience, with significant recent experience in public cloud environments.
Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud platforms.
Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform.
Strong understanding of Git, GitOps, source control, and modern software engineering practices.
Hands-on experience building automation and reusable engineering solutions.
Experience developing and supporting enterprise CI/CD pipelines, including tools such as Jenkins.
Experience with artifact management platforms such as Artifactory.
Strong understanding of cloud-native application architecture, resiliency, scalability, and security.
Experience establishing cloud environments that are secure, compliant, cost-effective, and easy for development teams to adopt.
Ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure, deployment, and production issues.
Experience working with engineering collaboration and documentation tools such as Jira and Confluence.ith the ability to drive outcomes across organizational boundaries.

  • Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to engineering teams, operations teams, and leadership.
  • Customer-first mindset with a practical understanding of end user impact.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and raise the technical bar of the team.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions, identifying weak processes, and proposing better engineering solutions.
  • Strong documentation discipline, including standards, runbooks, implementation plans, and RCA documentation.

Interview Focus Areas

  • Final-round candidates should be prepared to discuss real examples of engineering ownership, production troubleshooting, and automation delivery. Interview evaluation should include both technical depth and the candidate's ability to communicate clearly under pressure.
  • Citrix Cloud and VDI architecture and troubleshooting approach.
  • PowerShell development standards, module design, error handling, and logging frameworks.
  • Source control and peer review practices.
  • Approach to automating recurring operational issues.
  • Experience improving user experience, logon performance, or platform stability.
  • RCA methodology and communication during Severity 1 or executive-impacting incidents.
  • Ability to balance project delivery, operational support, and technical debt reduction.
