Product Designer III

About the Role : 

We're looking for a Product Designer III to own end-to-end design for a significant area of the product. This is a individual contributor role: you'll lead design on complex, ambiguous problems, partner closely with Product and Engineering, and help raise the bar for craft and process across the design team. You'll spend meaningful time in our design system, both using it and shaping it, and you'll be expected to make sound design decisions independently with minimal oversight.

What You'll Do : 

• Own the end-to-end design process for major features or product areas — from problem framing and research through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity, polished UI 
• Lead design on cross-functional initiatives, partnering with Product Management, Engineering, and Research as a peer, not just an executor 
• Conduct and synthesize user research (qualitative and quantitative) and turn it into clear design decisions and rationale 
• Contribute to, extend, and enforce consistency in the design system (components, patterns, tokens), rather than working around it 
• Prototype at varying levels of fidelity to test ideas quickly and de-risk decisions before engineering investment 
• Present and defend design work to stakeholders, including leadership, with clear rationale tied to user and business outcomes 
• Give and receive design critique regularly; mentor and unblock more junior designers on your team 
• Balance speed and craft — know when a rough prototype is enough and when a problem deserves deeper exploration 
• Prototype with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, v0, Lovable) to go from a Figma frame to a working, data-connected prototype — not just clickable mocks — for anything where real interaction or logic matters 
• Design the human-AI interaction layer where relevant: how the product surfaces confidence, uncertainty, and AI-driven suggestions; how users stay in control and build trust in automated or predictive output 
• Use AI tooling inside the design stack itself (Figma AI, generative UI, AI-assisted research synthesis) to speed up production work without lowering the bar on originality or craft.

What We're Looking For :

• 5–7+ years of experience as a Product Designer or similar, with a strong portfolio showing shipped, end-to-end product work (not just concepts) 
• Deep fluency in Figma, including component/variant systems, auto-layout, and design tokens. 
• Demonstrated experience designing within and contributing to a design system at scale 
• Strong interaction design and visual design fundamentals — typography, layout, hierarchy, motion 
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and a habit of designing for accessibility by default, not as an afterthought 
• Experience running and synthesizing user research and usability testing, and using data to support design decisions 
• Excellent written and verbal communication — you can explain why, not just show what 
• A track record of leading design work independently on ambiguous problems with limited direction 
• Comfort collaborating directly with engineers on feasibility and implementation details 
• Hands-on, regular use of AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, v0, or Lovable) to turn designs into working, data-connected prototypes — not just static mocks 
• Demonstrated experience designing interaction patterns for AI-powered or predictive features: surfacing confidence and uncertainty, giving users appropriate control, and building trust in automated output 
• Fluency with AI features inside the design toolchain itself (e.g., Figma AI, AI-assisted research synthesis) as part of your everyday workflow, not a novelty.

Nice to Have :

• Experience designing for B2B SaaS or data-heavy/analytics products 
• Front-end fluency beyond the basics (React/JS) sufficient for close collaboration with engineering on handoff 
• Prior experience mentoring designers or informally leading a small design pod 
• Experience working in a company where the design system is actively evolving (contributing to it, not just consuming it)
