Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities) Job title ICT Business Analyst Team Applications Team Application deadline 12 noon BST Friday 16th October 2026. Grade Staff Officer (SO) Salary The salary range for this position is £37,694 - £38,990 per annum. The entry point for the successful candidate will be at the minimum of the range. This role also attracts an annual ICT Allowance of £3713 per annum. Contract Type Full-time, permanent. The successful appointee will be subject to a 9-month probationary period. At the end of this period, subject to satisfactory performance and attendance they will be confirmed in post. If their performance, conduct or attendance during this period is not satisfactory the appointment may be terminated. This competition will also be used to create a reserve list to fill any permanent and temporary vacancies requiring the same skill set which may arise in the 12 months following the competition. Start Date As soon as possible (depending on notice period). Location The post will be based at Bedford Street, Belfast. Key Responsibilities include: As a member of the Applications team, you will help support and drive forward change initiatives and core business projects as support or where applicable as a project leader. Reporting to the Applications Manager, your main responsibilities are included below: Develop, optimise and agree business processes with users and management in Invest NI, and continually review to identify improvements to meet evolving customer needs Define agreed requirements documentation and prepare business cases for approval. Assist with, or manage, the procurement of and delivery of systems from external suppliers. Develop plans and schedules for the implementation of systems in line with project management best practice. Assist with, or manage, the implementation of systems in accordance with best practice, for example, Prince2, Agile, DevOps. Work with suppliers to implement larger change requests, build test plans and test changes. Support and lead projects. Configure and develop Invest NI core systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Click Dimensions, MyINI portal, Collaboration tools, MS Power Platform, MS Copilot Studio, Data Warehousing (Cognos/MS Fabric) and Analytics. Proactively monitor industry, functional and technology trends. Promote architectural consistency and usability standards; define and execute test cases. Coordinate system, integration, regression and user acceptance testing. Involvement in the maintenance of quality standards and following best practice for development and project management, for example Prince2, Agile, DevOps. Provide technical support to Invest NI's local and international users. Ensure the security of ICT systems. Map system dependencies, integrations and end-to-end data flows. Apply security, privacy, records management and data governance requirements. Support configuration, integration and lifecycle management of enterprise applications.
