Quick Overview
Job Description
Maintenance Supervisor | Charlotte, NC | $30-$45/hr
Overview
Mural Group is partnering with an industrial manufacturer in the Charlotte area to place a Maintenance Supervisor. This is a direct hire opportunity for someone who wants to be the most important maintenance person in the building and build something that lasts.
You will step in directly beneath a 30-year maintenance veteran who knows every machine in the facility and can teach you everything about it. The current team has zero depth beneath them. That is the problem this hire solves. You will back up the Maintenance Manager day-to-day, take the lead when he is out, and become the foundation of a maintenance operation that has been running on two people for too long. When you earn this team's trust, you become irreplaceable.
The Environment
This is a heavy industrial manufacturing facility. Non-climate-controlled, warm, well-ventilated. Real machines, real breakdowns, real hours. Standard week runs Monday through Friday with Fridays dedicated to PM work. Sixty-hour weeks happen. Saturday PM days happen. If you want a comfortable 40-hour week, this is not your role. If you want to do serious maintenance work and be paid well for it, keep reading.
What You Will Do
Repair, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial production machinery and pipeline distribution systems
Perform and own the preventive maintenance schedule
Respond to equipment failures and diagnose root cause independently
Handle electrical panel work including fault tracing and component replacement
Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed
Work alongside and back up the Maintenance Manager; take point when he is unavailable
Support the development of maintenance helper staff as the team grows
Maintain safety standards and a clean, orderly work environment
What You Need
Solid industrial manufacturing maintenance background (heavy production equipment, not facilities or HVAC)
Hands-on welding and fabrication experience
Electrical panel troubleshooting at 480V (medium voltage required; high voltage a plus)
Pneumatics troubleshooting experience
Ability to diagnose unfamiliar equipment independently without relying on someone to call
The kind of work ethic that does not clock out when things go sideways
What You Do Not Need
You do not need to know this company's specific machinery. The Maintenance Manager will train you on the equipment. What you cannot be trained is the foundation: industrial experience, welding, electrical aptitude, and the willingness to put in the work.
Compensation
$30 to $35/hr to start depending on your background. Candidates with strong electrical depth and fabrication credentials can reach $40 to $45/hr. The owner is willing to pay for the right person.
Benefits
Health, dental, and vision insurance (available the 1st of the month following your hire date)
401(k) with company match
Health savings account and flexible spending account
Life insurance
Paid time off and parental leave
Tuition reimbursement and professional development assistance
Employee assistance program
Referral bonus program
