We’re looking for a hands-on Electrical Installation & Test Engineer to join our Engineering team at Tewkesbury. You’ll play an important role in keeping our production site and distribution depot safe, compliant and running reliably.

The role combines electrical installation, inspection and testing with planned preventative and reactive maintenance. You’ll work across a range of production equipment, machinery and site electrical systems, carrying out testing, identifying faults and making sure everything is operating safely and effectively.

You’ll be someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in doing a job properly and can work confidently without constant supervision. A strong electrical background is essential, along with experience of working in a busy manufacturing or FMCG environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out electrical installation, inspection and testing across the Tewkesbury site.
  • Working on both single and three-phase electrical installations.
  • Completing planned preventative maintenance on production equipment and site systems.
  • Carrying out regular inspections, testing and lubrication to keep machinery safe and reliable.
  • Responding to electrical and mechanical breakdowns and carrying out reactive maintenance.
  • Fault finding on electrical systems, automated machinery and production equipment.
  • Repairing, testing and maintaining electrical and mechanical plant and machinery.
  • Completing annual emergency lighting and electrical distribution testing.
  • Ensuring electrical installations and equipment meet relevant regulations and testing requirements.
  • Supporting electrical projects, improvements and installations around the site.
  • Keeping maintenance, inspection and testing records accurate and up to date.
  • Working closely with Engineering and Production teams to minimise downtime and keep the site running smoothly.
  • Identifying potential issues before they become bigger problems and taking a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Always working safely and following the Company's Health & Safety requirements.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an engineer who is practical, thorough and confident working with electrical installations and testing.

You'll need:

  • Relevant Electrical Engineering qualifications and experience.
  • C&G 2391-51 – Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installation.
  • 18th Edition Regulations Amendment 2, including the On-Site Guide and Guidance Note 3.
  • Level 3 Award in Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with electrical installation, inspection and testing.
  • Experience working with high-speed machinery, ideally within FMCG or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with automated machinery and equipment.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
  • The ability to work confidently with minimum supervision.
  • Good organisation and time-management skills.
  • A flexible approach and the ability to adapt when priorities change.
  • Pride in delivering high-quality work and completing jobs properly.

The Person We're Looking For

You won't be someone who simply waits for a job to land on your desk. We want an engineer who takes ownership, spots potential problems and gets involved in finding the right solution.

If you're an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys installation, inspection, testing and fault finding, and you're looking for a varied role where your skills can make a real difference to a busy manufacturing operation, we'd love to hear from you.
